What Is the Westlake Fieldhouse?

The Westlake Fieldhouse is a planned six-acre community amenity coming to the Pines neighborhood in northeastern Westlake, along Town Center Parkway. Announced in April 2026 by Minto Communities USA — Westlake's master developer — it's designed to give residents a relaxed, walkable spot for everyday recreation right in their own neighborhood.

Unlike the Westlake Adventure Park (the community's big resort-style destination), the Fieldhouse is meant for your average Tuesday morning: a dog walk, a coffee, a pickup game, or a toddler play session without driving anywhere.

What's Planned at the Fieldhouse?

4,200-square-foot multi-purpose building — 2,650 sq ft of air-conditioned space that residents can reserve for birthday parties and small gatherings
Coffee bar inside the building, with covered outdoor seating, office space, and restrooms
Covered toddler play area designed for children ages 2–5
Outdoor play elements and open-play multi-use sports fields
Shaded pavilion overlooking the activity areas
Relocated dog park — moving from the Adventure Park to the Fieldhouse site, with improved shade and seating

Minto has stated the goal is to make the Fieldhouse and its surrounding property "exceptionally beautiful" — a phrase that came up in city council discussions during the August 2026 approval.

How It Went Through City Approval

The Fieldhouse went through Westlake's formal review process before construction could begin. It appeared on the August 4, 2026 City Council agenda alongside other major projects — the Avery Apartments and Westlake West rezoning. The council approved it, and as of the September 1, 2026 meeting, the Q1 2027 groundbreaking target was confirmed and the project remained on track.

Fieldhouse vs. Adventure Park — What's the Difference?

Westlake already has the Westlake Adventure Park, a resort-style amenity with a lagoon pool, splash pad, BMX pump park, basketball courts, concert pavilion, and a food truck court. The Fieldhouse is intentionally a different kind of place:

Smaller scale — six acres vs. the Adventure Park's larger footprint
Located in the Pines neighborhood, closer to homes on that side of town
Focused on everyday use — a morning coffee run, a dog walk, a toddler play session
Reservable indoor space for private events and small gatherings

Think of the Adventure Park as the community's destination for a big weekend out, and the Fieldhouse as the spot you walk to on a quiet weekday.

Who Is Building It?

Minto Communities USA is leading the project. Minto is Westlake's master developer and has been building in Florida since 1978, developing more than 38,000 homes across 48 communities. They're also responsible for the Adventure Park and the overall Westlake master plan.
