Westlake Fieldhouse: What Residents Need to Know

Westlake is getting a second major community amenity — and this one is designed for everyday, casual hangouts close to home. Minto Communities USA, the master developer of Westlake, has announced the Westlake Fieldhouse, a six-acre recreational space planned for the northeastern part of the community near the Pines neighborhood.
What Is the Westlake Fieldhouse?
The Fieldhouse will be a smaller, more relaxed companion to the existing Westlake Adventure Park. Where the Adventure Park is the big splash — resort pool, BMX track, concert pavilion, food trucks — the Fieldhouse is designed for everyday use: a place to walk over with the kids, let the dog run, or reserve a room for a birthday party.
The centerpiece of the Fieldhouse is a 4,200-square-foot multi-purpose building, with 2,650 square feet of air-conditioned space inside. Planned features include:
- Flexible indoor event space residents can reserve for birthdays and small gatherings
- A coffee bar
- Covered outdoor seating
- Office space and restrooms
- A covered toddler play area designed for children ages 2 to 5
- Outdoor play elements and open-play multi-use sports fields
- A shaded pavilion-style structure overlooking the activity areas
- A relocated and enhanced dog park (moving from the Adventure Park)
When Does It Open?
Construction is expected to begin in fall 2026, with completion anticipated in fall 2027. This was confirmed by Minto in their May 2026 announcement.
Where Is It Located?
The Westlake Fieldhouse will be located near the Pines neighborhood in the northeastern area of Westlake. It is described as a walkable, neighborhood-scale facility — a deliberate contrast to the larger Adventure Park.
What About the Dog Park?
The existing dog park at Westlake Adventure Park will relocate to the Fieldhouse site, where it will feature enhanced shade and seating. If you're a dog owner in Westlake, this is a meaningful upgrade to watch for.
Why No Fitness Center?
Several residents have asked about a fitness center. Minto has consistently explained that gym equipment carries insurance costs that would be too high for the Master HOA. The nearby Planet Fitness remains the practical option for residents looking for a commercial gym — it's close enough to reach by bike.
How Does This Compare to Westlake Adventure Park?
The $22 million Westlake Adventure Park — the community's flagship amenity — features a resort-style lagoon pool with a tower slide, splash pad, adult lap pool, event lawn, concert pavilion, food truck court, BMX pump park, children's playground, lighted basketball courts, bocce ball courts, barbecue stations, and the Lodge event space.
The Fieldhouse is intentionally smaller and more neighborhood-focused, meant to be a place residents can walk to for casual daily recreation rather than a destination event venue.
