Published July 19, 2026

Westlake, Florida was built with the idea that your neighborhood should feel like a resort — not just your backyard. For a city that was farmland less than a decade ago, Westlake has invested heavily in parks, recreational facilities, and green space. Here's a look at what's available now, and what's coming next.

Westlake Adventure Park — The Community's Flagship Amenity

The crown jewel of Westlake's recreation scene is Westlake Adventure Park, located at 5490 Kingfisher Blvd. This $22 million facility was built by Minto Communities as part of the city's master plan and is the social and recreational heart of the community.

What's at Westlake Adventure Park

City Council regular meetings are held at The Lodge at Westlake Adventure Park (6:00 PM, first Tuesday of each month), which gives you a sense of how central this facility is to the life of the city — it's not just for recreation, it's Westlake's civic living room.

The park opened in phases, with the final phase completing in 2023.

The Westlake Fieldhouse — Coming Fall 2027

Westlake's next major recreational facility is the Westlake Master HOA Fieldhouse, planned for the Pines neighborhood. This six-acre site will expand the community's recreational options well beyond the Adventure Park.

What the Fieldhouse Will Include

Construction is expected to begin in fall 2026, with completion targeted for fall 2027. The Fieldhouse is a Minto Communities / Master HOA project — an amenity for Westlake residents, not a public park open to the general public.

Xcel Padel — Coming to Westlake

Xcel Padel is bringing a padel tennis facility to the James Business Park area in Westlake. Padel — a fast-growing racket sport that blends tennis and squash — is a new addition to Westlake's fitness and recreation options. The project is actively tracked on Westlake Pulse.

Parks & Green Space

Beyond the major amenities, Westlake's neighborhoods include pocket parks, walking trails, and green corridors woven into the community's master plan. The Seminole Improvement District (SID) maintains much of the community's infrastructure, including common areas and waterways that give Westlake its open, airy feel.

City-Run Programs & Events

The City of Westlake runs an active events calendar throughout the year. One highlight is FourthFest — the city's annual Independence Day celebration. The July 4, 2026 FourthFest brought the community together for Westlake's signature outdoor celebration.
