What Is the Westlake Community Park?
The Westlake Community Park is a city-led initiative separate from the privately operated Westlake Adventure Park and the planned Westlake Fieldhouse. While the Adventure Park and Fieldhouse are Master HOA amenities for residents, the Community Park is intended as a public city park. Phase I plans are actively being developed and tracked through the city's planning process.

Where Things Stand in 2026
As of August 2026, Phase I plans for the park are coming forward. The Seminole Improvement District (SID) — which manages much of Westlake's infrastructure and common areas — held its August 2026 meeting, with park Phase I plans on the agenda. Notably, SID assessments dropped for the second straight year, signaling continued fiscal health for the district that supports community infrastructure.
Separately, Westlake has been working through how to fund a larger regional park concept. A Governor's veto in 2025 paused state funding for a proposed 50-acre regional park, and the city has been exploring alternative funding paths since. The Community Park Phase I on Sycamore Blvd represents the city's near-term public park priority.
Westlake's Broader Recreation Picture
Westlake already has a strong foundation of recreational amenities — all of them coming online in just the past few years. Here's the current picture:
- Westlake Adventure Park — The $22 million flagship amenity at 5490 Kingfisher Blvd. Features a resort-style lagoon pool with tower slide, splash pad, adult lap pool, BMX pump park, basketball courts, bocce courts, concert pavilion, food truck court, and The Lodge event space. This is a Master HOA amenity, not a public city park.
- Westlake Fieldhouse — Coming to the Pines neighborhood. A six-acre site with a multi-purpose building, coffee bar, covered toddler play area, open sports fields, and a relocated dog park. Construction expected to begin fall 2026, with completion targeted for fall 2027. Also a Master HOA amenity.
- Xcel Padel — A padel tennis facility coming to the James Business Park area, bringing a fast-growing racket sport to Westlake's recreation mix.
- Neighborhood parks and green corridors — Woven into Westlake's master plan, maintained by the Seminole Improvement District.
The Community Park Phase I on Sycamore Blvd would be the first city-owned, publicly accessible park in Westlake — a notable milestone for a city incorporated just in 2016.
