Westlake's New Fieldhouse — What Residents Need to Know
The Westlake Fieldhouse is a new 6-acre recreational amenity coming to the Pines neighborhood in fall 2027. Here's what's planned for residents.
A New Gathering Space for Westlake Residents
Minto Communities USA announced in April 2026 that Westlake is getting a second major community amenity: the Westlake Fieldhouse. Described as a six-acre recreational space "designed for everyday use and neighborhood gatherings," it's intended to complement the existing Westlake Adventure Park with a more relaxed, walkable feel.
Construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2026, with completion targeted for the fall of 2027.
What's Planned Inside the Fieldhouse
The centerpiece of the Fieldhouse is a 4,200-square-foot multi-purpose building, with 2,650 square feet of air-conditioned space. Here's what's included:
- Flexible indoor space that residents can reserve for birthdays and small events
- Coffee bar inside the building
- Covered outdoor seating
- Office space and restrooms
Outdoor Features
The six-acre site is designed with active outdoor recreation in mind:
- Covered toddler play area for children ages 2 to 5
- Outdoor play elements and open multi-use sports fields
- Shaded pavilion-style structure overlooking activity areas
- New dog park — relocated from the Adventure Park, with enhanced shade and seating
Where Will It Be Located?
The Fieldhouse will be located near the front of the Pines neighborhood — on the west side of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, in the area near the existing Westlake Adventure Park. Westlake Wanderer noted this is "that resident-inspired amenity coming to the front of the Pines," and described it as a welcome addition that flew somewhat under the radar when first announced.
How It Differs from the Adventure Park
Westlake's existing Westlake Adventure Park is a $22 million resort-style facility featuring a lagoon pool with tower slide, splash pad, adult lap pool, BMX pump track, basketball courts, bocce ball, a food truck court, and the Lodge event space. The Fieldhouse is designed to be smaller and more casual — a neighborhood hangout rather than a full resort destination.
Minto's Steve Svopa, Division President of Operations, put it this way: "The Westlake Fieldhouse will provide another welcoming space where neighbors can gather and connect, families can play and the community can continue to grow together."
What About a Fitness Center?
Westlake Wanderer noted that some residents asked about a fitness center. Minto has consistently said a gym isn't feasible for the Master HOA due to insurance costs — and pointed to Planet Fitness nearby as a commercial option. The Fieldhouse focuses instead on outdoor recreation and flexible event space.
Westlake's Broader Amenity Picture
Between the Adventure Park, the coming Fieldhouse, the Westlake Adventure Park's pool facilities, and the planned West Community Elementary School opening in fall 2027, Westlake continues building out the infrastructure of a fully self-contained community.
